No Shave for the Brave
For the month of November, Victoria's House Child Advocacy Center, a program of Children's Home Society of WV is asking law enforcement and friends statewide with the West Virginia Child Advocacy Network to stop shaving as part of a fall fundraiser, “No Shave for the Brave,” where money raised will help child victims of abuse across West Virginia.
To commemorate the end of the month, local law enforcement officers will get a clean shave after growing out their beard to support Victoria's House Child Advocacy Center. All proceeds raised in the Eastern Panhandle will stay here to support children and families that we serve!
WVCAN is the network that coordinates and provides a comprehensive response to child abuse in West Virginia. WVCAN’s membership roster includes 21 child advocacy centers (CACs) in West Virginia’s major cities, as well as in small rural communities.
This fundraiser was born in Jefferson County with the Sheriff’s Department finding a unique and successful way of supporting Victoria's House Child Advocacy Center, formerly known as Safe Haven Child Advocacy Center, so WVCAN took it statewide as a fun celebration of law enforcement, CAC supporters, and the work of CACs to bring hope and healing to kids all across the Mountain State.
